Cathy Hughes visited the Omaha Star newspaper, where she worked as a teenager and Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart where she attended high school.

- Paxton Boulevard, the street on which Ms. H lived as a child, was named Cathy Hughes Boulevard, and Cathy Hughes Day was proclaimed by the Omaha City Council.

- Ms. H received the Legends Award from Omaha’s Empowerment Network and served as keynote luncheon speaker at the 11th Annual Rebuilding the Village and Changing the Game Conference.

Later that evening, she was inducted into the Omaha Press Club with its installation of her caricature, the Club’s ‘Face on the Barroom Floor.’ Her image is now featured among other noted inductees including: Warren Buffet, Johnny Carson, MLB star Bob Gibson, and 1972 Heisman Trophy winner, Johnny Rodgers.
